Heard granted Guthrie her first interview since losing a defamation trial against ex-husband Depp. Previews are playing out on the Today Show on Tuesday and Wednesday before the full interview airs on Dateline Friday. Guthrie posed hard-hitting questions to Heard as she reflected on her loss in the multi-million dollar trial. During the closing statements, Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez claimed Heard had put on the “performance of a lifetime” while testifying on the stand in the Fairfax County courtroom in Virginia....
The exes were locked in a high-profile court battle after Depp, 59, filed a $50 million lawsuit against Heard, 36, over a 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post, in which she said that she was a survivor of domestic abuse. Following a six-week trial, a jury on June 1 awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages.
