RELATED: Nvidia and AMD Graphics Card Prices Are Nearly at MSRP
From the chart listed on the report, it looks as though the aforementioned AMD RX 6600 XT is one of the best GPUs in terms of overall value. Other Radeon products, such as the 6650 XT, 6700 XT, and 6750 XT seem to score pretty high as well. As for team green’s hardware, it’s been suggested that GPUs from Nvidia’s previous generation are of better value than the likes of the RTX 30-series.
However, whatever the value, it doesn’t undo the fact that graphics card prices are still coming down. The likes of Nvidia RTX 3080 12 GB, which released earlier this year, still being 20% over the MSRP might still be a little off-putting to some, but there are seemingly plenty of other choices, and that’s not to say that those cards that are still above their recommended prices won’t come down eventually.
Given that graphics card demand has actually been on the decline, this could be part of the reason why AMD and Nvidia prices are also falling. As fewer people seek a new GPU, it becomes easier for manufacturers and sellers to get their products into customer’s hands. As people return to some semblance of normalcy after the pandemic, it seems not as many are in the market for any hardware, so let’s hope that this trend continues, and that cards become affordable, but also more plentiful in supply.
