Amber is a Pyro bow user, and though many people consider her a bit lackluster, she’s a faithful companion with a lot of potential if used right. Here’s how to ascend her and upgrade her talents.

Amber is one of the free Genshin Impact characters, but that doesn’t mean she uses any less EXP than a paid character. Here’s how much she needs between each ascension level:

Amber Ascension Items

Amber’s a Pyro character, meaning she’ll need some Agnidus Agate. Being from Mondstadt also means some local specialties, in her case, Small Lamp Grass. Here’s everything Amber needs at each ascension level:

Gemstones - Where to Find Agnidus Agate

Agnidus Agate, like the other elemental gems, can be earned by completing all four daily commissions and visiting the Adventurers’ Guild, purchased from souvenir shops, or created in the Parametric Transformer. However, most of it will come from defeating bosses who can drop it. This includes:

Enemy Drop - Where to Find Hilichurl Arrowheads

It’ll be fairly easy to have enough Arrowheads to ascend Amber, since Hilichurls are basically everywhere. However, they need to be higher levels to drop better materials.

Any level Hilichurl can drop Firm Arrowheads Hilichurls that are level 40 or higher can drop Sharp Arrowheads Hilichurls level 60 and up can drop Weathered Arrowheads

It’s important to note that only Hilichurl Shooters can drop Arrowheads, unlike Hilichurl Masks, which can be dropped by various Hilichurl-type enemies.

Boss Drop - How to Get Everflame Seed

Like many other Pyro characters released in the early days of Genshin Impact, Amber needs some Everflame Seeds to ascend. This is the unique boss drop from the Pyro Regisvine, which is found in Liyue.

Local Specialty - Where to Find Small Lamp Grass

These strange glowing plants are needed by Amber, Diluc, and Fischl for their ascension. They can be found in various places around Mondstadt, but a high concentration of them can be found in the Whispering Woods.

Additionally, Small Lamp Grass can be grown in the Serenitea Pot or purchased from Flora, the young girl who runs the flower shop in Mondstadt. She’ll stock five every three days and sell them for 1,000 Mora each.

Amber Talent Materials

Amber embodies the spirit of Mondstadt extremely well. She’s a freedom-loving young woman who enjoys nothing more than gliding on the wind and soaring through the sky. It’s fitting, then, that she uses the Freedom talent series to upgrade her talents.

Talent Books - Freedom

The Freedom talent books can be obtained from the Forsaken Rift domain, like the other Mondstadt talent books. The Freedom series is available on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Trounce Materials - Dvalin’s Sigh

Dvalin’s Sigh, the trounce material Amber’s talents need, can, of course, be obtained by defeating Dvalin in the Confront Stormterror trounce domain.

Crowns of Insight

Crowns of Insight are rare items that every character needs for their final talent upgrade levels. They can be earned during special events or obtained by making offerings to the Frostbearing Tree and Sacred Sakura.
