It’s no secret that players will do replays for special occasions. The day Dragon Age 4’s release date is confirmed and closing in, several players will flock to replay Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, and Dragon Age: Inquisition. This is also true of a remake, as a recent playthrough could really highlight the successes (and/or failures) of such a thing. So, for example, the above is also true for KOTOR 1 whenever the KOTOR Remake gets a release date.

Now, the upcoming remake is the first game and this is the second, but it’s still a good way to push players into the older games before the Dead Space Remake releases. If someone doesn’t own them, getting the sequel for free means only buying the first game. It’s two games very cheap, in essence, and playing through them both will only highlight the franchise improvements in Dead Space Remake.

The Dead Space Remake is currently scheduled for 2023, so one could argue that releasing this now isn’t that big of a hype builder. For most games, this would make sense, but Dead Space has a huge legacy. Its impact really cannot be understated, and truth be told, many are worried about changes in the Dead Space Remake. After all, it has the daunting task of modernizing the game but retaining the unique atmosphere, vibe, and general feeling of the original. That’s no secret, and fans have been waiting with bated breath to learn more about Dead Space Remake.
